Perhaps it was the arrival of the heat which inspired these warm, orange-y pieces this month. The gold freesia smelled divine and was shown off nicely by the fluffy, green viburnum. Freesia is one of the most utilized floral scents in the world of cosmetics and home fragrance---candles, lotions, shampoos and a variety of aromatherapy products use extracts of this bloom to invigorate us all with the intoxicating smell!
In fact, both of May's featured blooms taut some powerful fragrance. Stock--which interestingly enough resides in the same family as cabbage and mustard--exudes a pleasantly spicy scent.
